That reminds me — the heatsink originally came with a set of plastic screws which are on there now and a set of metal screws along with some plastic washers. Did you try the controller in different slots on the board?

Even that 3112w Samsung GB drive now works like never 3112a sata. I’d like to replace both so I can be certain the heatsink is held to the CPU tightly. I have tried all the drivers asus provides for the raid controller 3112a sata so many others, old and new alike. Yeah, I figured you know what you were doing, but sometimes it does not hurt to get a gentle reminder. If it copies more than a 3112a sata bytes, it causes problems with the capture.
